Circuit Staff
Hello! I’m Tracey, the Superintendent of the Ilfracombe and Barnstaple Methodist Circuit. Prior to entering ordained ministry, I’ve held a number of different roles in a variety of industries. After gaining a PhD in Chemistry I worked as a Software Tester, Technical Author, Business Analyst and Project Manager in industries as diverse as scientific instruments, school software, car repairs and back-office work capacity management.
After training for ordained ministry part-time at The Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham, my first appointment was in the Yorkshire Dales. Coming to this circuit I’ve swapped one beautiful location for another, although now I’m much closer to the sea! Having grown up in Plymouth it’s lovely to be back in Devon. I have a passion for rural ministry, context-relevant mission, and enabling others to discern and use their God-given gifts.
I have been married to Paul for 28 years and we have one adult son. When not working I enjoy knitting or getting lost in the pages of a good book.
Deacon Sheralee Devitt
Hello my name’s Sheralee Devitt. My family and I look forward to joining the Ilfracombe and Barnstaple Circuit very soon! My family consist of my husband Brendan, daughter Leah, Kai our pointer cross dog and Tommy our tabby cat. I love the outdoors and have an increasing interest in the natural world, nature, and our interaction with it. I’d love to have a go at pottery and like to do creative things (a note to self to make some time for this).
I’ve been part of the Diaconal Order for 20 years! As a deacon I’m part of a religious order who follow a rule of life with a dedicated prayer life. I’m delighted to be able to walk the path of faith with you and together discern what God is saying and showing us as a people of God in this place. Every blessing to you all. Deacon Sheralee x
